Fall always brings out the apple lover in all of us. I am up to my eyes in apples that I picked up from my local orchard and I am in the midst of making lots of apple goodies. First up was apple preserves using this recipe. This was my first time using this recipe and I am looking forward to what the lemon will add to the preserves in the middle of winter when I use them on some toast.

I also had this lovely Lady Baltimore blooming outside, isn’t she pretty?

I just made a batch of Caramelized Apple Marmalade with Thyme, it was tasty. This sound really good with the lemon as well, perhaps when I get up to the city I’ll get some lemons and make a batch of this. My apples are picked up off the ground at the local farm market, you just can’t beat $2/bushel.
