Wow, I remember school pictures from my school days. Everyone tried to wear just the right outfit because it was to be memorialized forever (or what seemed to be forever at that age). You knew that you would see it on the mantle or wall at your own home, homes of grandparents, godparents and close family friends for at least a year until your parents sent them a picture to replace it. In grammar school, I remember not being able to wear just the right thing that didn’t clash with those hideous backgrounds. It was always a catch-22 in that if you wore white, the background had a lot of white and you blended and if you dared to wear some color, you could bet on the background not being a color that complimented yours on the color wheel.
Let me not get started on the years in which your teeth were missing, it rained on the way to school and you couldn’t redo your hair as perfect as your mom had it, or the photographer just wasn’t good. Ha ha…
I am not in the habit of doing school pics, but as part of the Not Back to School Blog Hop, I threw caution to the wind and took some pics. Of course, my usual disclaimers apply – I am not a professional photographer, my subjects tend to choose their own poses, I really want a better camera and most importantly, these are my images and thus without my approval, do not attempt to reuse them, these are my kids.
So, first up is the Princess:

Thank you so much!
Well hello your majesty and professor! Nice to make your acquaintance. :O)
They are delighted to have made your acquaintance.
Your kids look so sweet!
And yes I remember the drama of school pictures. Especially the year something happened and they made our whole class re-take them and I forgot and left my glasses on the second time. Not good when you’re in 4th grade! Funny the things we remember…
Isn’t it amazing what we remember, I tell ya!!
Ummm… a disclaimer. I wonder if I need one of those. Clever!
Beautiful kids! You nailed it with the awkward school photos. These are SO MUCH better. Wishing you a great year.
