Rainy Thursday Thoughts

It’s raining right now. We had a rainy and cool June that did a number on my garden and then we have had the summer heat and humidity that is par for the course in this area but today I awoke to cooler temps and rain. I have the windows open and the back door and I am wearing a sweater, yes a sweater. :o I want to crawl back into bed with a good book but the kids would probably ransack the house and that is never fun.

I was sitting here looking out at the rain and thinking of how it is approaching my 30-cough-cough birthday and how life has changed. The driven-do anything to get ahead gal of my 20′s rediscovered her need for a Savior, got married, had a baby, clung to the cross, had another baby, kept clinging to the cross, held her 3rd child as he took his last breath, continues to cling to the cross now as a happy and content stay-at-home mom to 2 darling children, married to a wonderful man that even though he is now bi-vocational and quite busy always keeps God first and family second, learning to accept and embrace her role as her husband’s help meet and secretly wishing to have her own cooking show, more time in her day to make things and wants to write a book.

If you are still reading these rambling thoughts, this leads to reading my archives. I have been blogging since February 2007 after a dear friend of mine suggested it. She later said she was just tossing the idea out there but of course me and my Annie Oakley fashion, ran with it and gave birth to my first blog – don’t worry, you can use the archive drop down on the side to read those early ramblings.

While perusing birthday related posts, I came across this post about my birthday, 2 years ago and this lovely clutch I made..

Do you read your archives? Reading that post and seeing how my kiddies have grown and all the people that used to read my blog, almost made me teary eyed. ;-)

Some people wonder why I blog, it is a great way to keep track of your life in words and pictures. I am not good at journaling with pen and paper but my blog counts as my own online journal. Thanks for reading!!

  1. Isn’t it wonderful to look back at where we were and see how God has moved us forward, in His time, according to His plans and all for His glory!
